Networking restart is deprecated because it may not enable again some interfaces

interfaces some again enable not may it because deprecated is restart Networking

Who worked on its network configuration via / etc / network / interfaces, you should always think of a little something. If one means

/etc/init.d/networking restart

wants to take over its network configuration, may surprise a following message:

# /etc/init.d/networking restart

Running /etc/init.d/networking restart is deprecated because it may not enable again some interfaces ... (warning).

Reconfiguring network interfaces...

and you get no network connection more with the system. Annoying for servers in a data center.

To prevent this, you should enter "auto eth0" in / etc / network / interfaces with. This will then look like this:

# The primary network interface

auto eth0

allow-hotplug eth0

iface eth0 inet static

   address 192.168.0.2

   netmask 255.255.255.0

   network 192.168.0.0

   broadcast 192.168.0.255

   gateway 192.168.0.1

The reason is that / etc / init.d / networking uses the program "ifup-a". This starts only network interfaces that are marked with "auto".
